First Garden Snack

We are so excited to see our gardens growing and starting to produce vegetables for us to enjoy for snack.

One of our new classmates helped harvest our lettuce and spinach.

We talked with the children about how all the tiny seeds we planted in the spring have grown into this delicious salad that we all get to enjoy.

We encouraged all the children to take a "no thank you bite" which helped remind the children about how it takes at least 12-15 times to try something before you know if you like it.

Throughout the year we have been talking about trying different foods more then once because it takes awhile for you taste buds to figure out if it's something that you enjoy eating.

Fresh vegetables are the best! Our hope is to provided at least 10% of our summer snacks from our gardens with additions from the other food groups.
