Assiniboine Park

We went on another adventure to Assiniboine Park. We explored the trails.

Next, we went back to the English Garden. We noticed many things had changed. Many new flowers were blooming. The water colour in the fountain was no longer blue...it was clear!

There were a lot more lily pads but no frogs!

We cooled off in their sprinkler...it was so refreshing!

The frogs in the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden had grown quite big. We didn't have to search as hard for them this time!

We found a big snail. We made sure to put it back carefully when we were done looking at it.

The bark on this tree was really shiny and smooth to touch.

We found a hollowed out log that we didn't see last time.

We took turns exploring inside.

We noticed one side was starting to crack. One friend pointed it out to the other children and we were very careful not to play on that side to prevent further damage.

We went to the duck pond and discovered that there were several park workers cleaning the pond.
We learned that 3 ducks had died unexpectedly. We talked about things we could do to keep ducks safe and protected. This is what the children came up with:
-Never feed ducks bread because it makes them very sick
-Always throw your garbage in the garbage can so it doesn't end up in the water
-Be kind to the ducks

We stopped at Sargent Sundae for an ice cream to cool off before heading back to Discovery.
